It can take a 32 GB SD card to record or you can purchase the cloud storage. The night mode works very well and comes on automatically. The motion detection is well implemented and gives you a short clip of the motion. This camera has facial recognition but you have to pay for it, so I haven't tried it yet. You can set a custom message when it detects motion, but the camera's speaker is not that loud. It does have a microphone so it can be used as an intercom. It can shoot amazing time lapses that look awesome when the clouds move so fast. When I got mine, it needed a firmware update, this completed and was stuck on 100%. This is confusing but if you wait, it says completed. Do not leave the update screen unless it says it's complete. The camera does work with Google assistant, but it's not fully supported, you can add it to your home but it cannot cast the stream, it just shows a black screen. To set it up, you must create a Chinese account and set the apps region to China. The camera will not show automatically, so click the scan button at the top right on the add devices page, now scan the barcode that came in the box. It will then connect and you have to scan the barcode on your screen into the camera, you will hear a beep, enter your WiFi password. Now go back and you should be able to view it. It speaks in Chinese but once set up it's fine as the apps language can be changed. It records 1080p and looks good, it can also take good photos. Remember, it doesn't have a battery so you need to power it via usb. The charger in the box is an American plug but you can use any power supply that is at least 5v@1A(1000mAh).
